These were not scary or unwanted Halloween guests, but instead my sister Lisa, Uncle Brad, Riana and Juliana! It was a joy to have them here Halloween weekend....we stayed busy running from library programs, to Grants Farm, Trunk or Treat, and other Halloween activities. The kiddos were so cute together and my boys (well Andrew in particular)....wants a baby sister as cute as Juliana. Lisa is pregnant too (18 weeks), but she was a big help with helping me sort pregnancy clothes and baby stuff. We even had time to watch the Cardinals games on tv. Overall, we really enjoyed their visit!

Ryan and I had the opprotunity to go for an overnight at Insbrook to spend some quality time together and relax before our next bundle of joy is born. Anita Winter and others made it so special for us by having fresh flowers, and stocking the refridgerator for us. Andrew and Kyle were overjoyed to spend the night at her house with Emma and Caleb and we were happy to be kid free for the evening and day. What a great memory!

We used to say "and if I die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take." But then one of our dolls say "angles watch me through the night and keep me in their precious sight," so we switched.

Well Andrew asked tonight...."well how did we used to say it." I told him and then the questions began. He got a huge grin on his face, and his eyes lit up. Here are some of the precious things my 4 year old said.....

Are we going to be alive in heaven? Oh, I know about heaven....there are no tears there. I guess that means we will always be happy. Oh, and when I say "family hug" (he says that now and all 4 of us have a big hug) that means everyone in heaven will hug! (You could just see how his mind was turning and trying to comprehend). Where are we going to sleep...or just maybe I could stay up ALL night with Jesus! And if we walk on clouds maybe Jesus or the angles could teach us how to fly wo we could get to the next cloud. Oh mom, I think that you are going to get there first. But I will see you there. Well actually, I love Daddy more, so I will see him first (he is so honest).

We then discussed how not everyone knows about Jesus. He was a little confussed because why wouldn't someone believe. I told him that God gives us the "job" or opprotunity to tell others about God. He was ok with that, but I could tell he still had this look on his face because he was excited about heaven.

It is kind of hard to explain to a 4 year old....if we are "alive" in heaven. We talked about Jesus coming again, and how our souls are, but I think I will leave the rest for daddy to describe.

I didn't want to stop the conversation because it was deep, he was excited and it was about heaven, but it was almost 10 pm (that is what I get for letting him take a 2 hour nap today....but I needed a nap too so it all worked out)and that little guy has pre-school in the morning. I am thankful for the opprotunity to talk about Jesus to him!

Review of Toy Story 3 Live

We went to see Toy Sotry 3 this weekend. Overall good, yet I was surprised at the parts of the movie that they emphasized. After the first half, Andrew said that he didn't understand the story (and he has watched the movie)and that is because it was more flash backs. The pizza alliens were the funniest and made the kids and me as an adult laugh the most.

I was shocked, and disappointed that the 2nd half of the show was so "sexual." (in my opinion). Barbie came out and my eyes were open wide, and then 20 other barbies came out and I was shocked that this was a kids show and they devoted a whole song to the barbies. My children are young enough, but they still saw how Ken and Barbie looked at eachother with lust, touched eachother etc and said..."I know I have just met you, but come live with me." (something like that). That just isn't what we believe in our family.

The show was entertaining, but maybe I myself am not a fan of Toy Story movies because of the way that Buzz and Woody talk to eachother (that is not acceptable to talk to a friend like that),....yeah I know, they end up being friends...I am just saying.

Unfortunately, I took lots of pictures and my camera broke and it won't let me up load. They were such cute pictures too and you all know how much I love pictures. Maybe next time.

Andrew woke up from his nap today and said..."I can't believe that I am going to school tomorrow. I just can't stop thinking about it." He is totally excited and when I tell him that I am going to miss him he grins. If I ask him if he is going to miss me, he says "no" and grins. For the last 3 days he has said to Kyle numerous times..."Kyle you have to play with me, or hold my hand baby because I am going to school and you are going to miss me." Gosh, I guess he sounds like me. Too cute.

Andrew and I have had some special moments together in the past couple days. He is being very senstive to my sensitivity. I joke with him that he is my baby and that I am going to cry. He kind of likes the fact that he is going to be missed and that Kyle and I have to stay home while him and Daddy get to go to school and work. For the last handful of months we have a special kiss before bed...left eye butterfly kiss, oggie moggie, right eye butterfly kiss, oggie moggie, and then a kiss. Then when I leave the room I blow him a kiss and he sends one back. Lately we have been putting the kiss on our heart. I explained to him that I can do that at school tomorrow and then if he misses me that he can remember he has a kiss on his heart. (Kind of like the kissing hand book). Honestly though, I don't think that he is going to miss me and that is a good thing. Right? Our job as parents is to prepare them to make their own decisions and to go into the world (tears). He is still my baby though. I am so proud of him. He doesn't need me as much anymore, but he will always need his mama and hopefully always love his mama too.

There is a little part of me who feels guilty sending him to school (3 half days). Aren't I a stay at home mom to stay home. Yet, I really think that Andrew is ready for more and that the time before baby #3 comes will be such precious time for just Kyle and I. Plus Andrew has started to tease Kyle by saing "Daddy is home." and it will only be 10 am. Then Kyle walks around saying "Dada, Dada." Or "Mom says that you can watch Boz the Bear." Kyle will then walk around saying "Boz, Boz!" I know that Andrew loves Kyle and I will see glimpses of it during the day, but he also likes to annoy and be a big brother. Kyle will be sad to not stay with Andrew at school (it already happened when Andrew went to camp), but he will have special Mama time.

In the past 2 weeks I have done SO many activities with Andrew and Kyle. I am worn out, but we had fun. I wanted to do somethings before school started....zoo (on a 100 degree day), butterfly house, botanical gardens, magic house, city night out, swimming, etc. I wanted to do, do, do because I won't have as many mornings to spend with him. We had fun on all of our little adventures. Daddy was able to join us for some of them too, but otherwise there I was, 6 months pregnant lugging around both kids in the hot weather. We also had a little swim party with about 10 of his friends today (the day before), went to Silkies for ice cream and talked about he code of conduct (in simple terms), watched a video of when he was born and of course read him "I see the moon book" and cuddled tonight. Oh what a day! We are excited that Daddy will be able to be there to drop you off and pick him up tomorrow and then going for lunch. What a special day! He is so spoiled that is for sure.

When we met his teacher and entered the room, there was about 10 seconds of shyness and then he was off and running. He made Mrs. Osbourn, Daddy, Mommy, Kyle and himself all wear hats during the meeting. It made us laugh. Andrew picked a bear to be a symbol by his name all year. He drew a picture...well as good as he could (not his stong point).

We had to fill out an information sheet on Andrew and I thought it would fun to look back on someday....

Favorite food: Mac and Cheese (Andrew answered some of these questions)
Games: Anything running, baseball, soccer, Candyland, Puzzles,
Toys: Pretend play...park ranger, bear hunter. balls, playmobile, dions.
Activities: camping, painting, anything that makes a mess. Rough play (FYI), exploring, going on adventures/discoveries. Dress up.

Strengths: Energetic, talkative, Math (?), soical, leader, enthusiastic, bible story knowledge, inquisitive.

Extra help:
Emotionally: Controlling/working through anger/upset. How to cope
Socially: Sharing. Not hitting back. Not always being 1st or winning.
Academically: handwritting. Attention span if he is bored.

Other things to share:
Andrew is all BOY.
He will proably be one of the youngest in schoool. He will have 2 years before kindergarden).
When he gets hurt he might say "milk" or "I want to go home." He says this even if he is home so just distract him.

I don't know why I am so tearful and feel like a bad mom for sending him to school. Maybe it is because Ryan said...for the next 20 years from now on he will be in school. Gosh, I just want my baby home, but I keep reminding myself that I can focus on him in the afternoon and it isn't like I am sending him away to bording school. (teary eyed and grinning at the same time). He is very blessed and one of the best places after being at home is at St. John School. We are so privledged to be able to send him there. I need to pray for peace. I am so excited to see what God has in store for his life. God is good!!!!

Andrew's BirthDAY in Colorado

Andrew turned 4 years old while in Colorado with the entire Peterson relation. Nana made him "bolt" pancakes, and he opened all of the gifts from our family.....all Jr. Ranger gifts....a hat, vest, net, bug sucker, etc. All the cousins went to the back yard and explored/investigated...this was proabably his favorite part of the day. Then to a park with a mountain background. He stubbed his toe and didn't want anyone to touch so it was a rough morning. He finally got over it.

Quiet lunch with Mom and Dad on the deck overlooking the mountains. Then to Keystone Ski area for an icecream treat, play time on a playground and walk by the river/mountain. He feel asleep in the car (3pm) and he was crabby when I attempted to wake him up for his PARTY at 6:30 (someone was exhausted...this was the last day of vacation). After 15 minutes of a break down and crying he finally opened some gifts which put him in a better mood. Then all of his cousins became JR. Rangers (went through the Jr. Ranger training in the Rockies). Ate cake which he cooperated well and then it was time to clean up the house because everyone was leaving in the morning. The kids watched Toy Story and I cuddled with him on the couch for a little while consdiering he was the last one in the house awake (10:30 pm because of his late nap). We gave him lots of kisses all day long and it was fun to be around family to help us celebrate!

I thought that maybe we were turning a corner and the boys were playing quietly together without whinning, crying or any sound. I was busy in the kitchen...the boys in Andrew's room playing. Well, then I got suspecious. Cosidering it was a nice day, I had Andrew's window open with the screen closed. Well, up went the screen and my two little rascles had taken all their trains, puzzle pieces, stuffed animals, some books etc and threw them out the window into the front bush. So much for a moment to myself, hey. It was kind of funny and they were actually working together well. Kyle would pick something up, hand it to Andrew and he threw it out the window. Yet, they still had consequences of course.

We hope that you had a Happy Easter celebrating "new life in Christ" and we are excited to share our news about "new life" also... Yes, I am pregnant with baby #3 !

I like to be just like my big sister, Tricia....with Andrew and Amber our due dates were 1 month apart and with Kyle and Evan our due dates were 5 days apart.
And now with our babies we are 6 weeks apart.

I am 10 weeks right now and am due Nov. 19th. Andrew will be 4 yrs 3 months and Kyle will be 2 years 2 months when baby is born.
I feel fine, just exhausted and always in need of a nap. Prayers for a safe pregnancy would be appreciated!

This is Bill and Florence Zeman, my Dad's Parents. It was so fun and interesting to look through all their old pictures. It is amazing how their life was so different than ours now, but love is love, children are children and God is and will always be God! I am so thankful for their stories and their lives.

Here is Bud and AnnMarie Gebardt, my Mom's parents. Today marks 22 years since my Grandma died. Wow...I was only in 4th grade. It is amazing that that much time has gone by already. I am sad because I miss her, or am I more sad that I didn't get to know her better. Either way, I know that my Mom thinks of her daily....she was and still is loved.

Telling Bed Time Stories about MY Grandparents

Andrew asked me to tell him a story tonight, so I told him about my grandparents. The story started off simple with me telling him their names (William, Florence, Bud and AnnMarie)….he laughed and said they sounded funny. Then I explained their houses, what they looked like, how Grandma Gebhardts had a certain distinct smell, how Grandma and Grandpa Zeman were always sitting in their rocking chairs, etc. It brought be back to when I was young. I had a stop a couple times because I was tearing up. I couldn’t believe how much I remembered about what their houses looked like and how the garages were not connected (This whole time Andrew is asking Why? And how come? And was so interested in the story) I never really thought of my parents as little kids growing up in these houses, but that is where my story went and how poppy slept in the attic and how Babka played baseball in field behind their house and how my Grandma had a coo-co clock in the kitchen.

My mascara ran and Andrew said, “Mom, wait, something is wrong with your eyes.” I explained that I was sad and that I missed my Grandparents and how they are all in heaven right now and how they loved Jesus just like we do. I had to grin. It was such a sweet moment when Andrew wiped my eye to fix the black stuff and how I was pouring my heart out and telling stories to my 3 year old son who has a hard time understanding what “yesterday” means and I am talking generations ago.

Andrew kept saying, “I want to hear more about Grandpa Ze and Grandpa Ebhrts. I explained how G.Zeman loved working with his hands and how he had a garden and a big ol’belly. And how G. Gebhardt was tall, had big ears, came to all my sporting games (did you play mama?) and made Rubarb pie (“maybe you should make some mama to remember him” Andrew said). I gave Andrew a kiss on the forehead, thanked him for listening and told him I would show him pictures of my Grandparents someday soon. What big curiosity for a little kid (“how come they were born before us” he asked).

I look forward in sharing more stories about my grandparents with my boys considering they were such an important part of my life. I ended by saying that Andrew’s grandparents love him, just like my grandparents loved me.

Maybe you can only love your own childrens feet, but I just love this picture. Andrew and Kyle are sitting on the love sac in the basement and cuddling in to eachother. There is something gross about my feet, but when it comes to my boys feet, I love them. I pray that God uses these feet for His glory!

Packers WIN the Super Bowl!

How cool is it that the PACKERS won. Yes, we are still fans even though we live in St. Louis. We only switched from Brewer to Cardinal fans. Needless to say we were exctied.

We went to a get together with good freinds and good food and at half time Kyle threw up (which started a whole week of all of us with the stomache flue). I took Kyle home and we watched the last half together. He was good company giving high fives and taking over the remote controller. He was in a pretty good mood considering he was sick. It was a rememorable moment when the Packers won with Kyle on my lap. We were able to have a quiet celebration together. Wouldn't have wanted to spend it with anyone else but my little buddy.

Let me tell you, this was fun, but it was messy, a lot of work and I don't even think they tasted that good. BUT....the boys and I love to make the kitchen messy when Daddy is gone. Andrew liked to joke Daddy about that. I didn't think Kyle would be interested, but he now wants to do everything Andrew does so we got him up on the counter. It was quite the crazy afternoon, but it was so fun. We sang Christmas songs as we baked to get in the Christmas spirit, laughed and at the end had some good looking cookies to enjoy. Thanks Andrew and Kyle for the fun memory.

A clean house that is quiet and empty? or A cluttered house where the people you love live?

I choose the later.

I spent Sat. and Sunday organizing the house. I am not completely done, but I got a lot done without Andrew and Ryan around (they went to WI to our nephew's baptism...Landon). So, the house was clean when the boys came home tonight. Well it isn't anymore.....YET, I go to bed tonight not caring that the house isn't as tidy, because I would rather have a messy house filled with laughter, little kids and joy than a clean, perfect house with just me in it. I am thankful for their safe return and the fact that we were able to spend some time together tonight.

Side note: I spent intentional time with Kyle and he is a smart little boy (I guess this gets over looked considering Andrew is older and learning so much). He dances so cute on the fireplace, plays peek a boo with his hands, points to his eyes/nose/mouth, runs towards me with open arms, picks up the phone or the remote from around the house and hands it to me, etc. Anyways, it was good mommy/son bonding. Andrew came in the door and cried because he missed Kyle and he wanted to play....Kyle ended up waking up and Andrew was the most gentle, loving, considerate and genuine brother I have ever seen him be. Praise the Lord for moments like that!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I wrote this e-mail to a friend, but thought it would be a good memory of what we did on Thanksgiving..... We were going to go to WI but decided that a quiet Thanksgiving here would be more fun. (Ryan didn't want to preach and get in the car and drive all Thanksgiving day). Ryan preached, then I made the turkey will ALL the fixings and we enjoyed a day at home with us 4....eatting, playing games, napping, eatting again, having a fire in the fire place. It was nice to be home and not have to travel, but missed being with family.

On Friday we got up at 3 am and went black Friday shopping (yes, the boys too)...it was fun and a little tradition for us. Then napped, worked out and put up Christmas decorations. We had friends over (Hubmeiers) to finish the turkey and then us 4 had a sleepover in the livingroom...this is a tradition that the night that we put the tree up we all have a sleepover. Good memories!
Ryan and Andrew then went to WI on Sat. (7 hour drive) and came back on Sunday....crazy drivers. Ryan was the God Father for our new nephew, Landon. Kyle and I hung out, I cleaned/organized and had some special mommy-son time.

Good Night moments

Sometimes after a long day, when I question my mothering skills, and the kids are pushing to see how far I will go, all I need to get back to my Happy Life is their cuddles and kisses at night.

Kyle recently started to "sing" when I sing to him at night. His cute little voice/hum that comes from him is so inocent and pure. Sometimes I feel as though I ignore Kyle because Andrew needs more attention, so I have been intentionally spending more face to face time with Kyle and we are both loving it. At bed time he has created a new little routine...Diaper change with fun little games, lotion massage, and PJ's. Then he turns off the light switch, and on goes the turtle that shines stars and moons on the walls. Then Kyle points at all the animals (decals on the wall) and I say "good night Monkey," "good night elephant" (elephant is his fist animal sound and action). Then we sing while I hold him and sway back and forth and he puts his little head on my shoulder. I just love those moments. The other night I kissed him 20 times just because I could and someday he won't want all those kisses. He holds on pretty tight. Sometimes during that all, Daddy and Andrew come in the room and we pray together (Now I lay me down to sleep) and then I put Kyle in the crib, on a small doggie pillow and put on the glow worm that plays music. I have been rubbing his head and back untili he falls asleep (which takes between 5 and 15 minutes and my back starts to hurt), but lately I leave the room, he cries for 3 minutes and he is asleep. The bed time routine isn't the point, it is the bonding of a little boy and a mommy that fills my heart with love for my little buddy Kyle.

Meanwhile Daddy and Andrew are putting on PJ's, going to the bathroom, brushing teeth and reading, reading and reading. (I am so glad Andrew likes to read). Once I am done with Kyle Andrew is normally waiting for me to cuddle and read books in his room. Although he can get crabby before bed, once his head is on the pillow he is my sweet little Andrew again. He lets me rub his hair and he gives really good good-night kisses. Sometimes he is so talkative, and he will talk for 15 minutes...more if I don't put a stop to it. But the nights that I don't rush bedtime I really enjoy hearing what he has to say. He is totally funny and has this growing imagination. He sometimes puts up his army men before bed to protect him, but I keep telling him Jesus will protect him and he says well the army guys can help Jesus.

My favorite part with Andrew is when I leave the room I make two kissing noices with my mouth (just like my mom used to do) and he does it back. We exchange our I love You's and my mind erases all the back talking and disobeying that occured that day (well, maybe not all of it).

My buddies are sleeping...I have a grin on my face...God is good!

Andrew surprised Mommy out of the blue this morning and came out of his bedroom and said, "I made my bed" so proudly! Mommy went in and looked and sure enough, he did a great job and even had the pillows on top! As Babka watched, mommy got Andrew clothes and he dressed himself , from head to toe with the cutest proud grin on his face. We are all so proud of him:)

Andrew showed me his 3 bedtime buddies that he always sleeps with, "Wow, Mac and Worm" (Lion, Doggie and Catepillar). He took me in the kitchen and showed me how the coffee pot has a cord on it and you follow it along the wall and it goes to electricity(Poppy will like this one). Andrew was talking so nicely.

Kyle walked and wobbled so cutely, and gave me a sloppy kiss. He looks sooo much like Kristy when she was little, that I think I am playing with Kristy. How sweet!

Kristy took the skype around the house to show me all her newly framed pictures of the boys -- so pretty--all in black frames. The house was also cutely decorated for halloween -- wow, didn't know she had so many cute decorations. They will probably schedule their Oct 31 arrival to go trick or treating here, cuz it is late afternoon in Wildwood also, but they will find different activities to do on Fri and Sat.

Kristy worked on Mon and Wed afternoon this week. Every week K has Wed morning bible school. On Thursday, they worked around house cutting bushes, hanging newly framed pictures, chinese lunch, etc. and 8 neighbors and their 7 children came over for a neighborhood party. This weekend ARKK are going to a circus Friday tonight, saturday morning family time, saturday afternoon Ryan has wedding and then will leave for Madison where he will sleep overnight at Erica's house that she rents out, but no renters right now. On to the Packer game on Sunday and for supper and overnight at Mom and Dad Peterson.

Next tuesday - thursday they are gong camping (if weather is too cold, they will go to a condo instead)

Sandi is on bedrest and she has slight preeclampsia and baby is due soon.

Andrew is a few days away from being 3 and his curiosity and vocabulary has reached a new level. He is so inquisitive and has been asking so many questions. He has recurrently said...."let's talk about jail." Ok, lets....and so we do.

Today I said to him..."2 more days until your birthday." He responded..."how many days until I die?" Um....ok Mommy of an almost 3 year old, you better start thinking on your feet. We talked for about 4 minutes about death and answered all of his what? when? why questions. Then he bluntly says "lets talk about something else." He is becoming such a big boy before our eyes and I am so lucky to be able to stay home with him so we have the opportunity to have these conversations.

Then....we were having quiet time (We both sit on the couch with our bibles for 10 minutes and when the timer goes off we can talk). Well, he was done early so I told him to pray. He said out loud..."Dear Jesus, Please send your holy angles to look over my bed. Keep me safe. Thank you for the whole world. Amen." Oh my, he is so smart. :)

I know that every other child in the world asks these things, but it is so heart warming when it is your own. It's pretty cool to have a child grow up right in front of you.

Oh, the word of the day was humongous. We got a lot of laughs out of that too.

Oh my...I was beaming. My little boy is a little preacher boy. I am so glad he is digesting something that he is learning at home and at Sunday School. Way to go Holy Spirit!

Kyle Vomitting Just in the Morning and at Night

Kyle has vomitted for 2 mornings in a row and 2 nights in a row? Diarrhea during the day today. He is in fine spirits during the day otherwise. Has anyone ever heard of this? I have been researching on line and have found articles and other people say that their infants have also only vomitted in the morning and at night (some were going on 9 days in a row...we are only at 2), but I found no reason or solution. If anyone has any insight, information or knowledge please let me know. I feel so bad for my little buddy.

Andrew's fever or 101.0 today is down to 99, so hope he is good to go by tomorrow.

I am feeling pretty blessed at this moment...Couldn't be more fulfilled by my 2 little boys! What little rascals they are and boy do I love them!

And My MOM...the most selfless and caring person I know. I admire her and am so lucky to have a friend who is only a phone call away. She will always be my "big one" and I will always be her "little one."

And how cool is it that I have a loving Mother-in-law too. She treats me like her own and loves her little grandsons too!

Andrew's Late Night Food Request

So, is my 2 1/2 year old fooling us so he doesn't have to go to bed, or is he seriously hungry? That is the question that we are now asking ourselves considering Andrew is in bed and say..."I am hungry." He finally convienced me to get him a peanut butter sandwhich and then he did go to bed.

So many times when he doesn't sleep I am stern about me not sleeping with him and that he has to go to bed. Well tonight, I took the time to listen to what he had to say. Man, the vocabulary on this little guy is growing so much and he had a lot to say. He talked about monsters and if I kept his light on in his room the monsters won't come. Also about random things that we talked about tonight and we didn't even know he was listening (building a bigger stage at church, going to get the car fixed). His little mind was running so fast. He is so innocent. I love our little boy. During our 15 minute talk he played with my hand....too cute.

Side note: When we are reading and he doesn't understand a word he will say "what does that word mean." (tonight he wanted to know what "fool" meant.)

Ryan's 1/2 Marathon Adventure

Ryan did the St. Louis Half. He wanted to complete it under 2 hours and he did it in 1 hour 52 minutes so he is really happy about that. What he isn't happy about is the fact that he can hardly walk these past few days. It really does a beating on your body. When he was done I asked him if he wanted to do another one and he said that he thinks he will get back on his bike again. Biking is his true love. Running the 1/2 marathon was just a goal of his. He trained some, but probably not as much as he should have. He ran the 13 miles...the longest he had ever ran.

His sister Erica and her Husband Michael also completed it under their goals. And our good friend Chris and Ryan ran most of the race together until Chris pulled ahead. I am impressed with all of them. It was fun to have them all do it together. On race day, I took Cousin Michael (9months) and Andrew (Kyle went to a friends house). We hung out with Sarah Hubmeier and Evie. What a beautiful day!

Potty Traing a 2 1/2 year Old

Oh what a long process this has been, but we have made progress, but we have more to do. I decided to start because Andrew is dry during his naps and during the night...and "they" say that is a indication that kids are ready.

Phase one: Little potty chair in the kitchen and one in the bathroom, Pull ups (when out of the house and doing the potty dance (skipping around dancing and singing "oh, Oh, the Potty Dance, Wew, Wew). Pull ups are just convenient diapers so these were NOT helpful at all considering he could pee in them and not care. At first he was wearing Princess pull ups (someone gave us their left overs) and I said we can't potty on the princess. Then because he is a boy, we thought it was fun to potty on the princess. Boy Pull ups weren't cool to him either. The Potty chair in the kitchen helped a lot, until about 3 weeks in he started to rebel. "They" said to stop for a month, so we did and it was good timing because we were going to FL and traveling and potty training is hard.

Phase two: Went cold turkey...no more diapers or pull ups. Andrew helped me up all of them in a big garbage bag, he watched me put them on the driveway and then saw the garbage men take them away. This is when the fun started and when my wash machine became my best friends.

We tried many things, and things that worked yesterday, didn't work today. We bought Thomas the Train Underwear (he has such a cute butt in the underwear compared to diapers), Elmo went potty and then Andrew went(worked for a day),He got to put Rice Crispies in the toilet after he went to hear them crackle, racing to the potty to see who could go first, lots of reading of potty stories, and a Thomas the Train Potty Chart in which he gets a sticker every time he goes and when the train is filled he gets a treat (fruit snacks, to read an extra book, for Daddy to take him to the park, etc). Even in Phase three this is still working. At one point he was very good at telling me when he had to go and we make it to the potty.

Phase Three: It's been almost 2 months now. He rarely tells me when he has to go, but when he does it is usually too late. If I am up on my game we can have a pretty successful day, but even so, we still have an accident daily There are days when he goes potty in his pants 3 times in a row and then goes poop in the toilet (He now wears one of my bracelets and with every bead we do a rhyme and that gives him power...it has actually been helping). Maybe he can only concentrate on potty OR poop at a time. He has now transitioned from a little potty to putting a small potty seat on the big one. He finds some crazy ways to go too (standing, squatting, squatting backwards, and sitting too)

Needless to say he is 2 1/2 plus 2 months old and we will continue to encourage and support him. He finally wants to be called a big boy. When we started he still wanted to be a baby. So I called him my big baby. There is a part of me who is done doing so much laundry, yet when he is finally potty training it will be like my little boy is truly a big boy.

Praise the Lord for Baby #3.

Jenni and Chris had 7 years of infertility and so did Invetro and have 2 wonderful children Noah (7) and Annika (3). Baby #3 was their bonus baby from God. They concieved naturally (what a shock to all of us) and gave birth to their baby girl the day before Jenni's 40th Birthday.

Annalise Faith was born on March 19th at 10:25 pm via c-section in Wisconsin. She weighed 8lbs, 8 oz and is 21 inches.

Kyle, Andrew and I drove to WI with Papa and Nana after Easter Service and had the opprotunity to meet, hold, coo over baby Annalise. She is so cute and tiny. We are excited to have another little cousin to watch grow. We now have 7 cousins on the Zeman side under the age of 3. Oh, what a sight we are when we are all together. LOL

Dunked in the Creek

We took a day trip to Pickle Creek today. It was beautiful weather; just right for a hike. If you have never gone there it is a fun day trip.

Andrew had a little water occurrence today. He was squatting on a stump, while holding a stick that he was swirling in the water. It was a creek that led into a pool of water, 1 to 3 feet deep. Well, he fell in...his whole body, clothes and all into the cold creek water...drenched. He landed on his belly and luckily his head was above water. I was across the way and all I could see was the helplessness in his eyes. Ryan ran over and pulled him out. He was shivering and started to cry because he was scared. I had dressed in layers (shirt and pants). We took off all his wet clothes (meanwhile a stranger who was hiking is holding Kyle), dried him off with Ryan's layered shirt and then dressed him in my clothes. Then he was good to go.

After the fact, we discussed safety around water and what happened and how happy we were that he was ok. And then he said something so darling..."WELL IN MY BIBLE, JESUS GOES IN THE WATER." What a little innocent comment. And Andrew is right...in his kids bible there is a picture of Jesus wadding in the water. Although, I have to believe that Andrew falling in the water was a mistake.

Christmas in March

We celebrated Christmas in March with the Peterson Family. It was so fun to be with family and to extend the celebration of Christmas. Andrew is still singing Christmas music so I think Christmas will last all year round. Does anyone know any Easter songs? Anyways, it was so nice to have a home cooked meal from Mom Peterson and just hang out with family.

I totally relived the labor and birth of Kyle on his 6 months birthday. I even called my doula to remince about it because it was so awesome. More awesome is the birth of Kyle. He is a true blessing in our lives and we love him so much. He has obviously changed incredible and starting to reveil a little quiet natured personality. In the past 6 months there has been a handful of times when I am all alone and it hits me that I am the mom of 2 beautiful boys. Am I qualified? Of course I am...with the help of God. Am I old enough? Well, I aint that younge anymore, so I quess so. I continue to pray for wisdom. I pray for Kyles spiritual growth. I pray for his health. I pray for his future. I pray for his wife (it is never too early to start). I will all honor and glory to GOD, for this little boy.

As a family we went out to the buffet we went to the day my water broke (the week before) and on the 6 month birthday we got his pictures taken (had a hard time getting him to smile but we finally got it). It was Thursday so daddy had the day off, so then did lunch at West County mall, home for naps and then to Arch Madness basketball game. Andrew also wanted to make him cupcakes for his special day. Kyle didn't eat, but we did. Kyle ate for the first time though(rice cereal)on his day.

We were at Ash Wednesday service and he says out loud so all the people in the pew around us hear him "Mommy wake up. Why are you sleeping?" Well, I wasn't sleeping, I was praying. Haa, Haa

We were driving last night and saw the moon. Andrew said "Mommy drive faster." Why? I asked. "The moon is following us. Hurry. Hurry."

Andrew,

You are still our "baby Andrew" because that is what you want to be called instead of "big boy Andrew." You make us laugh so hard, often and forever by what you do and say. We love the little boy that you are becoming and we continue to pray that we would be the parents you need us to be in order to raise you to love others, love God, be self reliant, to respect others, to honor your Mommy and Daddy...oh the list goes on. You are on your way little one.

We are so proud of your manners, and how you play with Kyle lately. Thank you for being Mama's little helper in the kitchen/laundry/sweeping, Daddy's little helper with painting/tools (by the way, you are obsessed with screwdrivers and everything needs fixing around the house according to you...some days that is all you do...fix things).

You are also a great entertainer...you love to stand on stage (typically on the fireplace) while you preach (just like daddy with your microphone) or sing (mostly the song from family live...Let's get started having a party, praising the name of Jesus!). Although you have lots of energy, you can also be very sweet to Kyle (who has recently loves to watch everything you do and thinks you are amusing to watch). You have recently enjoyed holding him again and you think it is funny when he lightly hits you in the face with his uncontrollable hand.

Mac is Back! After Kyle was born Mac wasn't seen for awhile. Now Mac goes everywhere with you (except in to stores because he has to guard the car). Oh, by the way, you love trucks and ask lots of questions about firemen and where they sleep etc. If I can't get you to do something I tell you that the firemen like to "bring their dish to the sink," and then you typically do it.

You still get time-outs for being naughty; spankings too and if you hurt your brother you get a "bare-butt spanking." It is cute when you look at me and say "is it going to be a bare-butt spanking?" You are learning though that being in trouble means that privileges are taken away.

You absolutely love to cuddle! You are our cuddle-bug. Mommy and you cuddle every morning after you drink your milk (Kyle too). You say "Let's cuddle and get warm and cozy." You love to wrestle with Daddy and you are becoming a "daddy's boy," which someone said is so healthy and which means that you have a healthy male roll model in your life. You are so blessed!

You never had a 2 year appointment, so you went when you were 2 1/2. We made it so special for you and you were so darling. You made a couple funny faces (squinted your eyes and scrunched your nose) when Dr. Bayer asked you questions, but then answered the other questions correctly. We had practiced saying "Hi, Dr. Bear," and when she walked in you said "Hi, Dr. Lion...that is silly," and laughed. You have a great sense of humor.

The MD said your vocabulary is like a 3 year old (because you use present and past tenses and also plurals), and that we should start reading your books that are for 5 year old. You know your main colors (red, yellow, blue, and green...green is your favorite) 95% of the time. You can almost count to 20 by yourself. You know the song for the days of the week. You love to read and will sit for 30 minutes plus reading the book. You like to read the same book over and over because you are memorizing them. You can probably read (with a little help) 10 books...or if I leave words out, you fill in the correct word. Keep up the good work.

You can play independently, but we taught you to ask other to join you....so you say "mommy will you join me and play with me?" You play at the "YMC" (you never say the A) in the area and sometimes in the gym (a little overwhelming for you sometimes with all the kids screaming and running). We typically do errands on Monday, to story time at Borders on Tuesdays, to the YMCA on Wednesday mornings (Mommy has a class), Thursdays Daddy is off and Fridays anything and sometimes Mommy works. Then you go to the babysitters (Ms. Robins)...you are the only kids and Zack plays with you in the afternoon when you get up from your nap. She never has any problems with you. There are so many activities in the community to keep us busy.

You go to bed between 9 and 9:30 (you read books to yourself right before bed), up around 6:15 and then take a 3 hour nap in the afternoon.

Yeah, Auntie Lisa and Uncle Brad are excepting BABY #2! Yeah, Riana will be a big sister months before she will be 2. We are so excited to have another baby in the family. Just think, next Christmas we will have two 3 year olds, 2 one year olds and 2 new babies. Blessings and Prayers!!!

We love Thursdays because Daddy is off from work and we do fun things. We went to the Science Center and Andrew learned about dinasours for the first time. Then out to a greek rest. in the city. It's fun to get out and explore the city!

I worked a lot last week and Andrew loves to imitate. As you can see he has my nursing jacket on. He is such a good boy when he goes to Miss Robins house...never any trouble. Kyle too! I do miss the boy when I work, but keeping up to date with nursing stuff is good for me, plus, it gives me a little break and a little spending money too. I love to see Andrew's face when I open the door, and most of the time he runs up to me to give me a big hug...and wants to show me all the cool toys he played with (Zach and Tyler are 5 and 7, so have cool toys).

I'm a friendly snowman, imagine that!

But when it's warm I get very small.

He sings and does the actions. So cute. Although, after making HIS snowman, he didn't want to come inside because it was a "warm" (30 degrees compared to 10 degrees) and he didn't want his snowman to melt. He said good-bye to him just incase though.

I was reading a book and Andrew asked what I was reading...I said "how to be a good mom" and he said, "oh mom, you are the great mom I had ever seen," and then he gave me a kiss.

What do you want to wear today...Andrew said "a tu-tu."

4 months of Joy

At his 4 month appointment they found a double ear infection and a male complication that will have a second oppinion.

He sure is a handsome little buddy, if I should say so myself. I personally love this age...smiles, giggles, discovering his hands, swatting at toys, watching Andrew jump/run and loving it. Ryan and I both give him many kisses each day! He is such a laid back baby, but is very sensitive to noise. He continues to be a good sleeper...up around 6am, nap around 9:30, nap at 12 to 2, then 5:30 and bed around 9:30 (sleeps through the night). What a bundle of joy! We love you baby Kyle (which by the way, Andrew says your nap correctly now, it's now baby Kytle).

I didn't feel old until I was sitting waiting to renew my liscence and a girl and I started talking and she said that she was almost 21. Gosh, that was 10 years ago. Well, off we go to a hotel for the night to enjoy the pool and family time.
