Our New HOUSE!!

We are all moved in, unpacked (now that it is 2 months after we moved), and...well, yes we still have the wallpaper up in the kichen (but, we'll get to it eventually).

Our 3 bedroom, 2 bath, vaulted ceiling, with an open floorplan, walkout deck (a big weeping willow tree gives us much privacy), with a partially finished basement (with hook up for another bathroom and space for another bedroom) is located in Wildwood, MO, only 3 miles from the church that Ryan works at. We are not suburbians yet, but we are loving the new area and neighbors (2 young couples without children just next door).

Needless to say we love the big kitchen (well, compared to the one in our condo), the gardening/yard work (we're new at this, give us time) the built in shelves in the basement, wash machine and dryer (they are big, not like our stackables!) but most of all love each other! (It was our 3 year Anniversary yesterday).

Chaperones?

Yes, Ryan and I were chaperones for the 8th grade class trip to the GRAND CANYON!! I don't know why they ever picked us, but they did! The trip was filled with challenges, opportunities for prayer, camping, hiking, hiking and more hiking. Did I mention that we hiked? Yes, we made it to and from the South Rim to Plateau Point.

It was a total of 14 miles. Temps in the upper 90's. Backpacks on filled with food and water. And great company...the eigth graders! They were so much fun, well behaved and full of energy!

We are thankful for our safety considering 2 of the other chaperones did not make it to the top of the canyon until midnight (due to fatique and sickness). We are now all home safe, but 10 of the kids and Ryan were all teriblly sick the last 3 days of the trip (no source of ilness has been identified. It will always be a mystery).

Rate our golf swing

Ok, maybe we don't want to know how you rate us. So...we aren't pros, but for not playing all winter we didn't do so bad. Ryan wore his new golf shoes, as white as can be. Let's see if he will get them dirty this summer! Yep, running shoes worked out pretty well, but I wonder if I would be good if I got golf shoes...yup, probably not. Happy golf season to all you golfers!

Way to go Marissa!

We visited our families in Wisconsin which is always filled with much food, good conversations and laughter. We went to see our niece Marissa play tee-ball. She made it on base and is a good fielder. Way to go Marissa!

You're It!

Oh yes, the game of TAG brought 9 of us back to our childhood. After a half hour of playing tag on a jungle gym, we realized our legs would not move anymore and we were feeling like camels. Needless to say, the next day Ryan and I were quite sore, but it was all worth the fun. And for all those who played...was I really the fat girl who couldn't catch you?...just kidding.

Introducing Audrey Weststrate!

Our friends Joel and Karen had their first baby...it's a girl. All 10 tiny fingers and toes....as cute as a button. We are so happy for you guys. The picture above is of my good friends Sarah, Karen and Jennifer at Karen's baby shower.

Go Cardinals!

With the stadium only half way done, we bought tickets to the 3rd game of the season, with confience that the stadium would be ready for baseball...and it was. Yes, we witnessed the Cardinal's first loss in the new Busch Stadium (and of course to the the Milwaukee Brewers, go figure). The 90 degree weather did not phase us because we were wrapped up in the whole "new stadium" experience. Can't wait to go to another game (believe me, Ryan already is looking for tickets.)

First Outpost Maplewood Baptism

We have made history, baby Toby Krupsky was baptised at Outpost Maplewood. What a night to celbtrate. We welcome him into the family of God with open arms.

No more Training Wheels!!

Congrats Ryan that you don't need to use training wheels anymore! Just kidding. As you might know our bikes were stolen last year. Ryan's love for biking is evident, and so I budged...considering he was crying the blues. Ryan is the proud new owner of a road bike! Yes, he is too fast for me and is now cool like the rest of the bikers.

The second picture is of Ryan after he went on a 40 mile ride with a bunch of guys. Yep, probably a little too far for the first workout. He was definitely feeling the pain and ended up taking an hour nap on the floor when he got back.

No More Red Scrubs!

Yes, it is true, I received a promotion at work and now I get to wear "normal clothes" with a white lab tacket (I look like a Doctor, but I am only a RN). My new title in Education and Performance Imporvement Cordinator. Pretty fancy hey! My main responsibilies at this time is to be a mentor to the new nurses. In the future I will be gathering data, determining what the educational needs of our Hospice are and then educating (via one on one, presentation, seminars, hand outs, hands on, etc). I have completed one week and I agree with everyone who said that management is hard. I am definately learning from my mistakes which will ultimately help me.

For all of my wonderful family and friends, thank you for listening to me gripe about being on-call. With this new position, I will be the "manager on-call" so will not be making the 2am visits to East St. Louis or St. Louis "City" (unless there are a handful of our pt's that pass all at once). Ryan is also very thankful, because now he will be able to sleep throughout the night.

Houston brings 70 degree Weather and Friends

To escape the winter of St. Louis and to see our good friends Erin and Brian, we traveled to Houston for 4 days. Although the time was too short, we had a fantastic time...talks, walks, laughs, Mexican food, touring Houston, Galveston Island (spent the day there on my birthday!), etc. We had a fantastic time and enjoyed the quality time with friends. Thanks Erin and Brian for being great cooks, taxi cab service, tour guides and friends!

We're going to be an Aunt and Uncle Again

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for all of your prayers. Yes it is true, my sister Jennifer(well, Chris too!) is pregnant! The baby was conceived through invitro a couple of weeks ago so has lots of growing to do. Please keep the little one in your prayers. We anticipate the arrival (in 9 months) of our new neice or nephew and are so happy for the Romine family! We appreciate everyones love and support!

Prayers Needed on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006

This is our nephew Noah and his mom Jennifer; he is praying for a sister or brother!

I am starting a prayer chain in St. Louis and for those whom are out of town if you would please spread the word also.

Jennifer (my sister) and her husband Chris have been trying to have children for 10 years. Through one successful invito, God blessed them with Noah (who is now 2). They would like Noah to have a brother or sister and there have been many unsuccessful attempts. This Tuesday at 10:45, the last embryos are being implanted into Jennifer.

PLEASE PRAY AT 10:45 ON TUESDAY FOR JENNIFER, CHRIS, THE DOCTORS AND THE EMBRYOS (WHICH ARE BABIES). THE POWER OF PRAYER IS STRONG.

We pray that Jennifer and Chris will be blessed with another baby.

Happy Birthday to Me x3

It is official...I am now 27! I am now in my "upper twenties, " but gosh do I feel good!

There were many celebrations. First with the Zeman family the night of our Christmas celebration where Mom made a great cake. Secondly was with both the Zemans and Peterson sides; we went out to Lunch before we headed back to St. Louis (homemade cupcake from the restaurant). And third... on my birthday we were in Houston and my friend Erin made me an ice cream cake (yum, with oreos!)

God has blessed me with another year of life, and for that I am thankful. Thank you all for celebrating with me. I was spoiled!

Zeman Christmas

Christmas at Mom and Dad Zeman's house was great. Considering we don't get to see the family often because of distance, Christmas was a time to celebrate Jesus' Birthday, but to also catch up with family (we miss them!). Laughter, games, food, family and gifts.

Dad and I have the tradition of making the dumplings for the Saurkraut soup and Mom prepares the rest to celebrate this meal like she used to with her family. It's a tradition that will always be close to my heart (we even had leftovers to bring back to St. Louis!).

A Peterson Christmas

We reached a new landmark in life this Christmas - I had to work Christmas Eve! I suppose this is an indication of the rest of my life...

After I preached the "Family Services" in Ellisville on Christmas Eve, Kristy and I changed clothes, jumped in the car, and drove north to Wisconsin in order to wake up to Mom Peterson's Christmas breakfast.

We made it...and it was a great Christmas. Check out the family - wow, we are a good-looking crew! It was great to spend Christmas day with the entire Peterson family.

Our Christmas Date Night

It's been our tradition to celebrate Christmas together (just us two), before celebrating with our extended families. This year we went to see Narnia, out for a romantic dinner at a German Resturant here in St. Louis, drove around town to look at lights and then back home for dessert, gifts (I guess we were both very good this year!), and time together.

Christmas Cheer

We volunteered to help a family in need find joy in the Christmas season. Our church works with the Good Samaritan Service Center for the Homeless in St. Louis and organized a Christmas party with games, Santa, food and gifts. It was great to see everyone laugh and enjoy. These are the cute children that we had the priviledge to care for during this time.

The tree fits!

Last year we cut down a new that nearly took up our whole condo. This year we find our small tree to be just right (way to go Home Depot for cutting it down for us). And the angel fit too and we didn't even need to cut off the top of our tree!

Advent by Candle Light...Girls only

Yep, it's only a girl thing. It was a night to gather us ladies to focus on Jesus, the light of the world. There were about 600 ladies in attendence (each hostest having to set a fancy table for the guests). We (myself and my good friend Aimee) decorated a table which was fun, but a lot of work (Thanks Aimee). I made a cheese cake with my new spingform pan (love it) and we also had chocolate fondue with many dippens. It was a night of prayer, music, socialization and how can we forget good dessert. I was asked to do an gather eveyone and say the opening blessing/prayer (just practice for I am a "real" pastors wife!)

KIP and PIG...what??

This is Pete! Yep, this is the guy that keeps Ryan in line at chruch (aka: supervisor). He calls me KIP (Kristy in pink), I guess my wardorbe has a couple too many pink shirts. I call him PIG (Pete in grey)...I guess that is only funny to us. This is us at the St. John Christmas party.

Busch Stadium Falls

It is true that today (Thursday, December 8th), the last piece of Busch Stadium fell to the ground. There's plenty of debris to be cleared...but there are no more arches circling the top of the stadium. Less than 4 months to Opening Day at the new Busch!

Thanksgiving in Wisconsin

Having both of our families in WI is quite convienent and fun because our 5 days are well spent with family. We spent 3 days in Door County (Mom and Dad Peterson own a condo) where we survived the best of Wisconsin Winter. Then headed back to Milwaukee for the fun filled Zeman celebration. Best of all we were able to see Bryan, our nephew who is now 8 months old and Derrick, Marissa and Noah (wow, they grow up so fast). And of course they are the cutest neices and nephews ever.
