A fast Growing 2 year old

Andrew 25 months old.

In the last months Andrew's vocabulary soared. He repeats everything we say and has started to say sentences...."I write baby Anna note."

He loves nursery rhyms and just rhyms in general...he often says..."honey bunny." (that is what he calls me now because Daddy does), and says "it's raining, it's pouring the old man is snoring" (yet, only mom and dad can understand that one).

To our amazement in the car one evening I started to leave out the last word of songs and nursery ryhmes and he new almost all of them. We were laughing so hard because he typically just listens and now if given the change chimes in. Too cute in his little high pitched voice.

He sleeps with Mac, Mac's Mama, Racoon (sometimes he insists in WOW the lion and Elmo but not all the time). Also in his bed goes 4 or 5 trucks, his train and a sippy of "wa-wa" (water). What a hoot, especially in the am when all these items need to be taken out and carried with us....it is definately a project. Goes into bed around 9:10 and plays/reads/talks for about 20 minutes until he falls asleep. Up around 6:30ish. Sleeps well through the night.

Loves trains, and in the last month has requested more "DT" (TV) than normal. I like a 30 minute limit but there have been a couple mornings when Daddy has already gone to work and I am exhausted (hello, 9 months pregnant) when I tell him to go turn on the tv and to wake me when the show is over..which he really does. I feel a little guilty, but I am not super mom.

Exhausted

I feel exhausted today. I even was so desparate that I put Andrew in front of the TV and told him to come wake me up when the show was over (and he did). It has been a long couple weeks of birthday and anniversary celebrations along with travel. I don't remember being this exhausted while being pregnant with Andrew, but then again I wasn't chasing after an active 2 year old. By all means, I am not complaining...I am just stating that today is a hard day because of lack of energy. I know all of you have been there and I know my energy will return soon...righ? Right!

Ryan is 29 and Holding

Yes, only 29...my little baby. Gosh if we have another boy I will be taking care of 3 baby boys...yikes!

Growing up, my parents alway had a theme for our birhtdays...what ever you were interested in that year. So, this year Ryan's was TRIATHALONS. Well, Since he has turned 29 he has hardly worked out because he injured his knee while water skiing with the boys. No MRI yet, we are just waiting it out for the time being. The orthopedic said it might be a torn Miniscus, but I guess time will tell.

To say the least, Ryan had a good birthday and it awaiting his big 3oth!

Today is Andrew's Birthday!

The birthday of your child is something speical. Although Andrew doesn't think today is any different than any other day, for us as his parents it is. A time to thank God for the 2 years we have had together and to pray for more of those to come. A time to reflect on how much he has grown and learned in 2 years. A time to celebrate life! etc....

We are so thankful for Andrew and for all the wonderful family members and friends who have been part of his life thus far.

When his nap is over it will be time to celebrate more!! With Daddy too!

His time of actual birth is 3:22 pm so hopefully we will be doing something more fun than sleeping at that moment!

6 Years of Marriage!

We went to dinner a couple days in advance considering Andrew's 2nd Birthday party was on our actual anniversary. We had a $100.00 gift certificate to Stoney River and we ate all $97.00 worth. Relaxing, best company I could ask for and romantic. Andrew stayed back with Babka and Aunt Lisa who were visiting (thanks).

After Andrew's birthday party we were able to relax and watch the DVD of our wedding ceremony.

A New BIG BOY room

It is 2 months before baby #2 is born, so we thought we would make Andrew's transition easier and put him in his new room now. He is now in the "office"...well, it is his room now although the computer is still there it will be moving. Ryan and I worked all day one Thursday and then when Andrew got up from his nap we showed him that his crib (same one he had for consistency) was now in a new room. We were nervous how it would effect him and it didn't seem to phase him one bit. In fact, it is brighter (bigger windows) in his room now and he plays in it now (He never used to play in his old room). We still have some stuff to do in his room, but it works for now. (Ryan even helped sort clothes and pack them a way...not one of my favorite jobs).

Although in the last week he did climb out of his crib one time, but I was sitting at the computer and he climbed onto my back. We have been wishy-washy on making his crib into a toddler bed, but are holding off at this time. Andrew hasn't done it since,so hopefully not again any time soon.

Life Celebration

We have a friend from church who has cancer whose MD says doesn't have long to live. So, we were invited to a party (kind of like a wedding...food, DJ, dancing) to celebrate her life! I think more people should do this. It was a way for her to say goodbye and a way for us to celebrate her, as a child of God. If you know someone who is close to death you may want to suggest such a party

Train Ride

Andrew really enjoyed riding on the little train. His new love is trains and is always asking to watch Thomas the Train on TV (we have a DVD). I think we found his second love behind Doggie Mac.

Friends visit from Vietnam

These are our great friends from Seminary and whom have lived in Vietnam for the past two years. It was so awesome to have them stay with us for 5 days and catch up on life...it seemed like they never left. Except for the fact that Celeste is 2, Andrew is almost 2 and we are both expecting (Aimee in August and Me in September). We pray many blessings on them today and for the years to come.

23 Months

No, he isn't 2 yet!

Car stuff: Has to get into his carseat byhimself and shooshes you away. Says "Wee" when going around the corner. Holds his hands in the air when going under a bridge (to hold up the roof).

Elevator: Has to push the button. Stands on one leg and puts his arms up like a karoti kid.

Hide and seek: Tells you where to hide. He hides anywhere and puts his hands over his eyes when hiding.

Will add more later!! Got to run!

Vacation Bible School--Crocodile Dock

What a wonderful week of energetic kids and praise to God! Ryan played "Pastor Ryan" in all of the daily skits, while I was the Elementary Craft Coordinator. Sure, I had some hick-ups considering it was my first year, but overall it worked out fine. (except for the fact that I had to miss Friday considering Andrew had a 102.2 temp...fever virus. I think it was God's way of telling me to slow down considering I was having braxton hick contractions...I don't think the 100 plus heat index helped at all either).

With lots of planning the week was a success.

Andrew even got to be part of the fun...he went to childcare. They brought him in to see the skits...where he saw Daddy up front and everything was cool. Then Andrew saw someone fall into a pond and started crying. He is too empathetic...unlike his daddy :)

A Hot, Hot day at Six Flags and The Dave Crowder Band Concert

Although it was over 100 degrees indext we went to Six Flags over St. Louis. Andrew went on his first ever ride...the airplane...cried until it started and then loved it. With every circle he waved and said "Hi mama, Hi Dada." How cute was that!

We spent the rest of the day in the water park...Andrew needed to be convienced to go down the water slide and then once he did we couldn't stop him...by the end he was doing it all by himself.

In the evening, Andrew went to the babysitters and we went with Cama and Brian to the concert (which was great) and then they all went on big roller coasters while I waited...no pregnant people allowed! Overall, a great and exhausting day.

A Day at the Park

Andrew loves running around the park and playing. He needs to be encouraged to go down the slide, and then once he throws his fit then he is fine and then he loves it. One of our favorite parks are Valisis Park.

Missouri District Conference

Yeah, Ryan was the lucky guy to go. Andrew and I enjoyed ourself at the pool and mall while he was at meetings. It rained while we were there, but we kept busy and go to hang out with another family from church. I think we had more fun than Daddy did though!
